The specialized care you receive here is designed to restore, body, mind and spirit by combining the best in clinical medicine, an outstanding staff and services created to meet the individual needs of each patient. It is truly our privilege to serve you.

Our unique “Philosophy of Wholeness” reflects an approach to the treatment of breast and gynecological cancers you won’t find anywhere else.

BODY

  • Communicate how your body is feeling to your care team.  Ask questions, voice concerns and get answers.
  • Take time to give yourself good care—rest, restore, renew.
  • Focus on your body and your care.
  • Fuel your body with good things…nourishment.

MIND

  • Know your disease.
  • Know your individual condition.
  • Know your options.
  • Understand your treatment program.
  • Your thoughts and feelings are to be accepted without judgment.

SPIRIT

  • Don’t let statistics or numbers deter you.  You can do this.  And you will be treated as a unique person, not a diagnosis or statistic.
  • Now is a good time to tap into your spiritual strength and purpose in life.
  • The human spirit is powerful.  Empower yourself to make this cancer journey a positive experience; believe it or not, positive things can come from it.
  • Allow yourself to feel all emotions, then choose to embrace the ones that move you forward.

SUPPORT

  • Take advantage of the support available through your extended care team of nurses, patient services, social worker, and others.  They can help in more ways than you can imagine.
  • Reach out and connect with others.  You are not alone.
  • Find someone to confide in and walk with through your journey.
  • Let yourself lean on people and allow them to help you during this time.  It’s okay to ask for help, and to let others know what you need or don’t need.

Our goal is to provide you with encouragement, answer your questions and empower you every step of the way.

What patients say they learned during their cancer treatment experience at California Oncology:

  • It reinforced the power, beauty and sharing of women.
  • I learned how precious life is and to live each day to the fullest.
  • I learned to be more patient and to slow down, put myself first.
  • Cancer has taught me that I need to take every opportunity to enjoy life and don’t take it for granted.
  • Little things that I thought were important are not any more.  Your health and your family are the most important.
  • Life is precious.  We take health for granted until a devastating illness occurs.  This drew my family closer.  We began to say “I love you” more and have continued the habit.
  • I have learned to be positive and that there were so many people worse off than I, and that I’m blessed to have the great doctors and staff looking out for me.  I think keeping happy is a good thing for me!
  • My cancer experience has changed me for the better.
  • I learned to ask for help and graciously accept it.
  • There is life after cancer.  Actually, that is when my life began.  So many changes have taken place in my life.  I used to be very quiet but if the opportunity presents itself to talk to someone who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer, I always share and tell them the positive side of my story.  Cancer made me see the big picture and get over myself.
  • I learned not to be so superficial.  People are more important than things.  Relationships are what we really need to be happy.
  • I now appreciate the little things in life that I previously overlooked.
  • Authentic concern for my health and recovery.  I feel as though my caregivers were all family, even if I didn’t know them before.
  • Kindness and care, treated like family.  Dr. taking time with answering questions and with family and always with kindness.
  • The love and care that I felt every time I walked into the office.  Also the humor!
  • How beautiful and “home” like California Oncology is, very pleasant.
  • I am one lucky person to have gone through this.
